Privacy policy

Effective August 12, 2026

Globe O'Clock is designed to answer a time-zone question without requiring an account. This policy explains what the site processes now and what may change if advertising is activated.

Current-configuration notice: Advertising and analytics are disabled in this build. This policy must be reviewed and updated before a new hosting provider, analytics product, advertising vendor, consent platform, or contact method is activated.

Information processed by the clock

The site reads the current date, time, language preference, and time-zone setting exposed by the browser. This information is used on the visitor's device to format clocks and identify the local time. Globe O'Clock does not use the browser's precise geolocation API.

City searches are matched inside the browser against a downloaded city index. The text entered into the search field is not sent by the clock application to a search service, saved to an account, or used to build a profile.

Hosting and technical logs

When the site is published on a web host, the hosting provider may automatically process standard request information needed to deliver and secure the site. This can include an IP address, browser type, requested page, referring page, timestamp, and diagnostic or security data. Retention and access depend on the hosting provider selected for the live domain.

Cookies and local storage

The core world-clock experience does not need cookies or browser local storage. In the current pre-advertising configuration, Globe O'Clock does not load Google AdSense, analytics, or another behavioral tracking service.

Advertising disclosures

If Google AdSense is enabled, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or other identifiers to serve, measure, limit, and personalize advertising. Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on a visitor's activity on this site and other sites on the internet.

Visitors can manage personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings. They can also learn how Google processes data on partner sites through Google's partner-sites explanation. Where other certified advertising vendors are used, their identities and opt-out choices will be presented through the applicable consent interface.

Consent in the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland

Before personalized advertising is enabled for visitors in these regions, Globe O'Clock will use a consent management platform certified by Google and integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. The consent message will identify relevant purposes and vendors and provide available choices. Advertising code in this build remains disabled until that platform is confirmed.

United States privacy choices

Depending on the live site's audience and applicable state law, the advertising consent interface may also offer choices concerning personalized advertising, sharing, or targeted advertising. Globe O'Clock does not sell information entered into the city search.

External sources and links

The city index is derived from GeoNames. The site also links to GeoNames, Creative Commons, Google, and other external resources. Those websites operate under their own privacy practices, and Globe O'Clock does not control their content or data processing.

Children's privacy

Globe O'Clock is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13. It does not knowingly request names, contact details, or account information from children.

Policy changes

This policy may be updated when the hosting provider, advertising configuration, consent platform, or site features change. The effective date at the top of the page will be revised when a material change is published.

Privacy questions

Privacy questions or requests should be directed to the site operator through the public contact method associated with the live Globe O'Clock domain. The operator will publish and monitor that contact channel before advertising is activated.

This privacy notice is provided for transparency and is not legal advice. The site operator is responsible for reviewing it against the laws, vendors, data flows, and audience that apply to the live service.
